Benita Kayembe is the founder of KayBold Consulting. She holds degrees from Harvard University and Cornell University, and has built her career at the intersection of policy, health, and sustainable development across Sub-Saharan Africa.
Originally from the Democratic Republic of the Congo's Katanga Province, one of the world's most significant mining regions, Benita brings firsthand understanding of the political economy of resource extraction, energy transition, and institutional reform. Her research on artisanal cobalt mining and the human dimensions of critical mineral supply chains has informed global policy discussions.
She has contributed to institutional reports for the World Economic Forum, published peer-reviewed research on just energy transitions, and developed case studies for the Harvard Ministerial Leadership Program. She served as President of the Harvard Africa Health Forum and has advised on delivery challenges across multiple African governments.
